About Dough Mania
Lynn Annette O'Hern is a homemaker and artisan from Tucson, Arizona. She was a registered nurse when she began to make Christmas ornaments from cookie dough. She personalized each ornament adding names and dates to each.Friends and family encouraged her to enter local arts and crafts shows which she did. Her first shows were one-day city parks craft shows and Christmas fairs at mobile home parks.
The response to her crafts was so positive she branched out to larger two-and three-day fairs. She also expanded the variety of designs and now offers 50 or 60 different Christmas ornaments - each personalized to the customer's request.
Over the past eight years she has expanded her participation to fairs in California from San Francisco to San Diego, Las Vegas, Mill Avenue, Fountain Hills and the 4th Avenue Street Fair in Tucson. Dough Mania even does a 12-day fair in Charlotte, North Carolina every year.
With the help of her mother Lynn makes the ornaments from January to August. From September until Christmas she spends most weekends selling her crafts. She has literally built her business from the kitchen table although lately she has commandeered the two-car garage for additional space.
She has become a recongnized fixture at all the fairs in which she participates. Repeat customers return every year to buy their annual family Christmas ornament. Even Maricopa Sheriff Joe Arpaio has one of her onrnaments.
She looks forward to seeing her loyal customers from the past and making new friends.
